About Me
My name is Prithi Vohra, a retired Colonel from the Indian Army, and the voice behind this blog dedicated to heart health, wellness, and balanced living. Life has given me the privilege of experience, discipline, and perspective—but it also taught me a powerful lesson about health that I feel compelled to share.
About a decade ago, what began as an ordinary evening turned into a life-changing moment. While having tea with my wife, I suddenly felt a sense of discomfort that I could not fully understand at the time. There was no dramatic warning—just a subtle unease that quickly escalated.
What happened next is something I will always be grateful for. My wife showed remarkable presence of mind. Without delay, she called our neighbour, who responded immediately and rushed me to Fortis Hospital. Those few minutes proved critical.
By the time I reached the hospital, I had collapsed. The emergency team acted swiftly and decisively. I was revived with electric shocks, a moment that quite literally brought me back to life. I was then shifted to the Cardiac Care Unit, where further treatment was carried out with great professionalism and care.
The cardiologist performed angiography followed by angioplasty, and one stent was inserted to restore proper blood flow. After spending some time under observation and care, I was discharged from the hospital. That experience marked a turning point in my life.
Since then, I have been on prescribed heart medication and have made conscious efforts to adopt a healthier and more disciplined lifestyle. This journey has not only helped me recover but also inspired me to learn more about heart health and preventive care.
This blog is a reflection of that journey. Through my experiences, I aim to share practical knowledge, simple health tips, and awareness about cardiac care—especially for those who may not recognize early warning signs or understand the importance of timely action.
If there is one message I would like to convey, it is this: never ignore even the slightest discomfort. Awareness, timely response, and the support of loved ones can make the difference between life and loss.
I write here not as a doctor, but as someone who has lived through a critical moment and emerged with a deeper understanding of health and life. My goal is to help others stay informed, stay prepared, and take better care of their hearts.
Warm regards,
Prithi Vohra
